Today we officially opened our KLS Martin WORLD North America training center at our site in Jacksonville, Florida. After a construction period of 14 months, the training center finally joins our North American campus, which previously included our marketing and sales company KLS Martin LP as well as our development and production company KLS Martin Manufacturing LLC.
According to Karl and Christian Leibinger, the aim of our new training center is "to offer physicians, employees and other visitors a place where they can meet and exchange ideas". The room concept offers a good basis for achieving this goal. It is based on our first KLS Martin WORLD, which opened in 2016 at our headquarters in Tuttlingen, Germany.
The new building combines state-of-the-art training rooms with a showroom and modern work places. On an area of more than 12,000 sq. ft., KLS Martin WORLD North America offers space for an auditorium, a bio-skills laboratory for training purposes, associated locker rooms with showers, a lounge, offices, three conference rooms, a spacious showcase room as well as a café and dining area.
These were explored by more than 100 customers, partners and employees for the first time today. Beneath the guests, there were 60 craniomaxillofacial surgeons, who will expand their knowledge on congenital and developmental disorders until Sunday in the course of a training from one of our scientific partner organizations S.O.R.G. This is the first of many educational endeavors to come. There are four courses planned for the remainder of 2019 including the S.O.R.G. MasterCourse next weekend which also marks the first use of the bio-skills laboratory.
