The Biomaterial marPOR®

marPOR® Implants are made from UHMWPE, which means they are lightweight and have a more natural feeling and haptics than titanium or PEEK implants.

Material and packaging

We produce marPOR® Implants in a clean room environment. After ETO-sterilization and packing in a double blister package, they are sterile and can be directly placed in the patient's body.

Handling

To make the marPOR® sheets fit perfectly, you can easily modify them with a scalpel, scissor, or drill. This step isn't relevant in the case of customized IPS Implants® with marPOR®, as these are directly planned based on the patient's CT scan.

The fixation of the marPOR® Implants can be done with drill-free maxDrive® screws, even in combination with mini plates.

Vascularization

Based on the pore structure of marPOR® with different pore sizes, the implants offer maximum flexibility while maintaining high strengths.

The porous structure of marPOR® Implants facilitates maximum fluid transfer, promoting bone ingrowth, and vascularization. This, in turn, is the basis for forming new vessels and soft tissue during wound healing, such as after tumors or traumata.
