The KLS Martin Group is continuing its commitment to education and the customer experience with the construction of the second KLS Martin WORLD facility.
KLS Martin WORLD North America is currently under construction and is planned to open in fall 2019. The 12,000 sq. ft. facility will be located in Jacksonville, FL. It joins the KLS Martin North American campus that currently includes the KLS Martin L.P. corporate headquarters and KLS Martin Manufacturing. This facility will be an extension of KLS Martin WORLD in Tuttlingen, Germany and share the vision of Karl and Christian Leibinger as “A place where physicians, employees and people can meet and exchange ideas.”
In order to facilitate this type of environment, significant of thought was given to the optimal use of the facility. Much like KLS Martin WORLD in Tuttlingen, the auditorium is the heart or centerpiece of the building. The auditorium will have stadium style seating with room for up to 82 guests, a high-definition projector, 16 ft. presentation screen, charging stations at each seat, live streaming capabilities and much more.
The facility will have a 2,000 sq. ft. bio-skills laboratory with capacity for 15 full cadaver specimens. We expect this lab to be used often for surgeon training and education on KLS Martin products. Even though they are not sold in the US, the lab is equipped with the newest KLS Martin Group OR light – the marLED® X.
In addition to the bio-skills lab, there is also a lounge, dedicated luggage storage, a large café and dining area, offices, three conference rooms, locker rooms with showers and of course, a showcase room for meetings and product displays.
All of these areas have been thoughtfully designed to create an environment that is both educational and welcoming to our guests. When designing this facility, it was important to keep the intent and purpose of this building as close to KLS Martin WORLD in Tuttlingen as possible – a place where people can learn, develop and feel at home.
KLS Martin WORLD North America will be the crown jewel of our US campus and we are looking forward to its opening.
