Studying full-time has now become a luxury item. The cost of living, such as rent and food, has risen continuously in recent years - especially in popular university cities. This makes it increasingly more work for students to concentrate on their studies full-time. In 2020, according to a Forsa survey commissioned by the "Minijob-Zentrale Bochum", almost three-quarters of students in Germany had a part-time job. Alongside studies and a part-time job, there is little time left, especially for dedicated students, for their social environment or recreational phases. This makes us as a company all the more appreciative of the opportunity to help committed students financially through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship program.
"For 10 years, KLS Martin has reliably supported the Deutschlandstipendium at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. I want to express my sincere thanks for this! The benefits of this cooperation are obvious: Thanks to the financial support, the University of Göttingen can award scholarships to the best and most committed students. Furthermore, companies like KLS Martin can get to know future specialists early and interest them in their company, enter into cooperation with science, and demonstrate corporate social responsibility. This is a win-win situation," says Nadine Dreyer, Advancement & Engagement Officer at the Deutschlandstipendium.
In terms of sponsorship, we have chosen the subject of dentistry, which is close to our corporate context, and are sponsoring Chiara Fanslau for the second year in a row.
"I decided to study dentistry because I am fascinated by the combination of medicine and aesthetics. For example, teeth let us enjoy food and are crucial for our perception of our counterparts. So if I, as a dentist, can help my patients to have healthy and beautiful teeth, that makes me very happy.
The sponsorship from the KLS Martin Group means that I can concentrate fully on my studies, despite the high cost of materials. I am very grateful to have such a renowned and innovative sponsor in dentistry, the KLS Martin Group, which is giving me a lot of support on my way to my dream job," reports Chiara Fanslau, dental student at the University of Göttingen.
"Promoting education and training in the medical field is very close to our hearts, and we are delighted to be able to support eager students with the Deutschlandstipendium. For us, this is about financial relief and personal contact with the students we support. We enjoy this exchange very much and would like to continue this support in the future," says Christian Leibinger.
