Genos mini

Thanks to Ilizarov, callus distraction has become an established procedure for lengthening and axis correction of extremities. Using an external fixator that must be left in place throughout the healing phase represents a complicated and troublesome therapy for patients. To increase patient convenience and practicability and prevent pin infections at the same time, we have developed a special mini-fixator.
This internal distractor allows the use of callus distraction for correcting infantile malformations (brachymetatarsia and brachymetacarpia) and treating posttraumatic conditions. It offers high stability during the distraction and knitting phases and allows bone lengthening of up to 23 mm.

Our internal Genos mini distractor allows callus lengthening of 18 mm and 23 mm and is available for the right and left hand and foot sides, respectively.

With our smartDrive®- multidirectional locking screws, you can choose from screws with diameters of 2.0 and 2.3 mm in various lengths for placing the distractor.

In addition, our screws are equipped with an atraumatic screw tip and atraumatic screw head with self-retaining function.

The distractor is activated by turning the patient screwdriver clockwise. The patient or his relatives can perform the distraction themselves after instruction by the physician.

We have made it our objective to design instruments that are easy and efficient to handle. The colour coding according to the respective screw diameter enables a clear and unambiguous assignment of the instruments.

Field of use
